Brighton have lacked wins in the last few weeks but if you overlook the away games, they have had some tougher fixtures at the Amex and overall have lost just three at home which is better than most other Premiership clubs. Burnley though have been on the rise having found their rhythm again with a six game unbeaten run in league action and with draws in five of their last six meetings with Brighton, I’d say they're strong enough to hold out once again.
Watford have Won 1, Drawn 2 and Lost just 1 of their Last 4 League Games whilst Everton have Won 1 and Lost 3 of their Last 4 League Games, Which would suggest that Watford have shown marginally better form in those respective Last 4 League Games and as such am edged towards likely Watford Win, Which is supported by the fact that Watford have Conceeded more than 1 Goal in just 1 of those 4 Games whilst Everton have Conceeded at least 2 Goals in 3 of those 4 Games, Which again would suggest that Watford have shown marginally better form and defense in those respective Last 4 League Games and as such am edged towards likely Watford Win as seen in Watford's Last 2 Home Meetings here at Vicarage Road (3-2, 1-0).
Arsenal look quite short for a team who haven't won on the road in 6 games and have lost the last three (the top 2 & West Ham). They should respond here against a Huddersfield team who have lost 11/12 including the last at home. If David Wagner, so committed, felt he had to step away, it is hard to see Siewert turning things round. Huddersfield now resemble Derby's awful season in the PL (11pts). They have played most of their relegation rivals at home, so they may avoid matching Derby's record but struggle to get past Sunderland's 15pts. Scoring goals has been a problem, they have failed to net in the last 4 & they haven't netted over 1.5 goals in this barren run of 12 games. Arsenal though are yet to keep a clean-sheet on the road or won to nil, their defence suspect, however, Emery may seek a response in the same way Chelsea did against these opponents.
Southampton have been harder to beat under the new boss and they are unbeaten in 5 games. They are till only just sitting above the drop zone but the feeling around here is better and at home they can win this one. Cardiff have earned only 5 points away from home so far and I can see the hosts just having too much here.
Fulham have won 4 drawn 3 and lost 5 of their 12 league home games played, and sit 19th in the Premiership with 17 points, losing their last league game played 2-0 away against Crystal Palace. Man Utd have won 7 drawn 2 and lost 4 of their 13 league away games played, and sit 5th in the Premiership with 48 points, winning their last league game played 0-1 away against Leicester. Man Utd have already beaten Fulham 4-1 this season at home. Fulham did win their last home game played 4-2 against Brighton, Man Utd have gone their last 8 league games played unbeaten including their last 4 league away games played. I am taking man Utd to take all 3 points from this match today.
The A-League continues on Friday night with an encounter between Brisbane Roar and Sydney FC at the Suncorp Stadium as the hosts look to end a disastrous 12-match spell without a win. Brisbane Roar have gone 12 league matches without a win. Brisbane Roar have lost 3 of their last 4 at home in the A-League. Sydney have won 4 of their last 6 matches on the road.Sydney somehow vaguely started the season and is now forced to make up. To gain points in matches with outsiders the team just needs to fight for prizes. Therefore, I am sure that in this meeting they will be determined to win
These odds are really fantastic considering the poor season made by Maccabi so far: the Israeli team is out of the playoff zone and has already lost 4 times at home, where they were almost unbeatable until few seasons ago. Olympiacos comes from 2 losses and this is the right chance to come back to a win, as it happened the last 3 times they have played here.
Lazio will play without their main goalscorer Immobile. Lazio demonstrates good defence, while Empoli didn't looks very good on offence. At head to head they had under at four games from their last five.
Reigning Champions Germany start their defence of the cup against consistent Finals qualifiers Mexico. With Sweden and South Korea filling the other 2 spots in this group it is hard to see Germany not qualifying as group winners. They are always well prepared for major competitions and the squad has a good blend of youth and experience. The fact that Germany can leave the likes of Leroy Sane speaks volumes about the quality they possess. The last time these two sides met was 2 years ago in the Confederations Cup when Germany won 4-1, and though I do not expect a similar scoreline I do anticipate a German win.
Germany will be looking to start the competition of with a confident and dominant performance. They face a good side in Mexico but Germany's quality and ability to turn up for major tournaments and qualifying means they will certainly come away with a win and it should be comfortable. Although Mexico may be able to nick a goal, I believe Germany will romp to a convincing win
I think that Brazilwill have the most posession and i think they will make a quick energetic start score in the first 45 mins and then go on to win by at least 2 clear goals. Switzerland have done really well but there an ageing team with no real attacking threat so they wont really bother Brazil.
I think it is fair to say at this early stage of the tournament that some of the pre-tournament fancies such as France and Argentina have been disappointing. Hopefully Brazil will not fall into that category. Although they will face a highly organised Swiss team I think they will win the match. More importantly I think their will be goals in this game. With the array of talent Brazil have goals should not be a problem and they have failed to score in only 2 of their last 11 games both of which were 0-0 draws, the first in Bolivia in a World Cup qualifier the more recently against England in November in friendly. Switzerland also provide a goal threat and may give the Brazilian defence one or two anxious moments and they have only failed to score in 2 of their last 18 games.
Costa Rica put in a good showing in Brazil 4 years ago but little has come in the way of development since then and they look to be reliant on a very similar squad this time around and an ageing one at that. Their final two warm up games for this tournament saw them lose 0-2 to England and 1-4 against Belgium, a game in which they did take the lead. That goal is just 1 of 7 goals they have scored in their last10 games but 4 of those games has seen them fail to score. Serbia meanwhile have looked in much better shape. They have won 6 of their last 10 games (1D, 3L) and were 5-1 winners against Bolivia in their final warm up game. Aleksandar Mitrovic leads the line for Serbia and he is a big goal threat having netted 12 goals in 17 league appearances for Fulham this season and his hat-trick in Serbia’s last outing is a sure sign that he is in good form. Serbia should have enough to get past Costa Rica here and they are sided with here.
